Paragould is a growing community, and attracting people to live, work and play in our city is a top priority. We are fortunate to live in a very safe community with excellent schools, quality healthcare, and ample employment opportunities.
I want to ensure those resources are sustained for our citizens now and in the future. However, we will need to change our game to continue growing. Anytime there is growth, there are also growing pains. My election to the City Council will allow me to use my diverse background to help guide us down the path to success.
Over the last two years, Paragould has seen several improvements and additions, such as street improvements and parks. All these improvements have been funded through federal funding, grant funding, and matching funds. As of the last budget review, city funds have increased rather than decreased. We must keep Paragould fiscally sound as we plan for city growth. Using our city tax dollars sensibly is my top priority.
Paragould's greatest asset is the people living in our community. Providing safe places and spaces for our citizens to work, live and play is essential. A vital priority is ensuring that fire, police, parks, sanitation, and street departments have the necessary resources to maintain services and infrastructure. We also need to continue supporting our schools, senior centers, parks, and local industries so our residents have everything they need right here in Paragould to thrive.
